Data Storage and Security

Dentista Photo uses Your Cloud Storage of Choice as its primary storage solution. This means:

  • All patient photos and information are stored in your Your Cloud Storage of Choice account, not on our servers.
  • Your data remains under your control at all times.
  • The security of your data is primarily dependent on your Google account security.
  • We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication on your Google account.

Local Data Storage

The app stores some data locally on your device:

  • App settings and preferences
  • Temporary copies of photos before they are uploaded to Your Cloud Storage of Choice
  • Cached information for offline use

This local data is encrypted and secure on your device.

Patient Privacy Considerations

As a healthcare provider, you are responsible for:

  • Obtaining appropriate consent from patients before taking and storing photographs
  • Ensuring compliance with local healthcare privacy laws (such as HIPAA in the United States)
  • Maintaining the security of your device and Google account / Microsoft account
  • Using the app in accordance with your professional ethical obligations

Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information or patient data to third parties. Since we do not collect usage data or analytics, we do not share any data for analytics purposes.

Camera and Storage Permissions

Our app requires permission to:

  • Use your device's camera to capture dental photographs
  • Access device storage to save photos temporarily
  • Connect to your Your Cloud Storage of Choice account for data synchronization
